John: What i think it was really interesting about what he's saying is that out of all the things that he's gone on and accomplish in his life, what he valued the most were the connections and the relationships in his life. Yet, here's the thing, he said that he didn't really care about all that ecademic stuff, and he never really excelled at it. He could have, but he didn't, cause he didn't care. And other people that really excel at other things, you know, maybe it's a counting or architecture, whatever, but it doesn't give them the kind of satisfaction in the human connections that learning chinese does.
