The Pain of Ballet

The iconic pink point shoe is basically made of leather, paper, satin, and glue. There is almost nothing to lessen the impact or the blow of dancing on your tippy toes. If dancers want any padding or protection, they have to MacGyver it themselves. Even football players have helmets and runners have shock absorbing foam. Ballet dancers are extreme athletes. So this is an ouch pouch.
