Coleridge's Changes in Indian Literature
I think there's a lot of politics going on in the background in Britain, you know, for the early romantic period. There is much more of a skepticism about Britain when compared with the promise of America or the French Revolution. After a while, their idea of Britain, including Britain in India, changes because I think actually Britain can potentially do good things in India. And he sees Christianity as being real religion. He starts talking about Indian pantheism as being painted atheism. So really strong language towards the end of his part.
