The Guardian did some work to find out how many people have applied for a voter ID and found that the number is just over 10,000 so far now the local elections are three months away. The government's own estimate is that roughly 2 million people need voter ID and so that's 0.5 percent it's going to be a massive disenfranchisement I don't think it's getting enough attention.
