The Effects of Nitric Oxide on Cardiopoly Bipar Surgery
Ten years ago there was a consensus statement in circulation which stated the needs to develop and test novel interventions to mitigate the adverse equilipar from cardiopoly bipar surgery. In this context nitric oxide has emerged as a potential attractive treatment. Two pilot studies have been conducted in children using 20 p.m. of nitric oxide on bypass. The intervention pretty much halved the occurrence of local output with the strongest effect seen in children less than two years of age. It showed us well enough potential for a benefit leading to reduced ECMO. However actually this the question is whether these single center pilot studies to translate into the benefit you know can be reproduced in a multi multi center study
