The Manhattan Project and the Soviet Union
Even with the strictest security, at least 1500 leaks have been identified since the project concluded. The Manhattan Project was also a major target for international espionage. Many foreign spies were not enemy Axis powers, but from the Soviet Union. Two of the most famous atomic Soviet spies were Julius and Ethel Rosenberg.
