Carlo Bonaparte and the New French Administration
Carlo Bonaparte was either a very impressive person, or simply good at reading people and making a good impression. Despite his youth and inexperience, he had worked himself into Pauli's confidence quite quickly. He lobbied tirelessly to have his family recognized as aristocrats in 1771. In 1778 Carlo was selected as representative of the Corsican nobility to the royal court. And probably knew his father more from their written correspondence than from face-to-face interaction.
