How to Use Nix Portable to Replace a Machine in Place
Nix portable is a self extracting archive that has a default configured Nix. It comes with flakes and the other experimental features like Nix commands enabled for you. Not only can you build any package in Nix packages, including Nix itself, but you could also build yourself a custom version of Nix portable if you want. The power of it is you can replace a machine in place.
