Lady Macbeth - A Review
The fast pace of macbe is achieved at the scenic level by lots of short, cross cut scenes. This is a play from a period of shakespeare's career where he's really waiting for cross cutting and film editing as one of the techniques that speeds up action. And then at the level of the sentence or the line, we a density of monosyllabic words, a sense. It's interesting when macbeth talks himself about a the orof futility of everything at the end of the play,. He talks about the last syllable of recorded as if time is measured in syllables, in bits of words.
