Dairy consumption is consistently associated with lower rates of osteopenia, osteoporosis and better bone health across many different cultures around the world. Studies show that drinking milk tends to lead to positive calcium balance meaning more calcium is absorbed than excreted. Other studies show that phosphate in general which is in milk products but also in other foods increases calcium retention and improves bone health.
