The Role of Novelty Candidates in Colombia

People tend to vote for a novelty candidates when they aren't happy with the current system. Sometimes that backfires, you know, with certain presidents yeah. One of my favorite things about Bogota's mayor is that he hired 400 420 mimes. He reckoned Colombians are more afraid of being made fun of than they are of being fined. And it worked. Traffic violations fell.
