The Importance of Eyeliner
In ancient Egypt, men and women would paint their eyes with coal liner to create something called the eye of Horus. Lip paint became so important to the queen that she even had a special container for her product. Eventually, you could tell someone's social status just by looking at their makeup. It really signaled how high up they were in the social pecking order.
