Devotion to the Blessed Virgin
In paragraph 972, it says this Mary, the eschatological icon of the church. She is that icon, that image of who we are called to be as church. The church rightly honors the blessed Virgin with special devotion. This very special devotion differs essentially from the adoration given to the incarnate Word and equally to the Father and the Holy Spirit.
