The Role of Lattice Radiographs in Cervical Injury

A Navy man had a right pedicle and lamina fracture. He went back to swimming five days before he showed up at therapy. The lateral radiograph is always the first image they make after any neck trauma. On his, there's a big step off in that line. C4 appears to be subluxed forward over C5. Both are suggestive of serious injury.
