The Origins of Gravitational Collapse

Seikar Seikar got a lot of pushback for his idea that there would be gravitational collapse. He just said, well, one is left speculating. There's early work where people wondered what happened to very massive objects. And it was in the 1939 when Oppenheimer and Snyder worked out an exact model,. according to Einstein's general theory of relativity, of a collapsing dust cloud. It was the picture of a black hole that we have now.
