Decentralizing Power, Devolving Power - What's Required?
There is just so much information, there's a kind of an impossibility for the maintenance of centralized entities and institutions. It suggests to me that what's required is either a process of decentralization or authoritarianism. What it feels to me is that as power requires now more tools to enact its power, we have to create the conditions in which that power is legitimate. And it seems that really what is required is a negotiation - and I don't think there is an easy outcome.
