The Different Dispositions of Agents

A lot of compatibilists have started to think sometimes more explicitly than others that there are these dispositions that agents have. They're disposed to respond to reasons in particular ways, they're disposed to act on them and that's maybe what free will is. The fun thing about dispositions is that dispositions seem compatible with determinism. Determinism doesn't cause us trouble at all. If it works, it would be great if it worked. I'm a compatibilist. It's a wonderful strategy. You take something complicated and say, it's actually really this more fundamental basic thing. And it turns out that that more basic thing is totally fine.
