Don't get hung up on your accent too much, it's very hard to cut out the traces of your origins and really it's unnecessary. Just focus on being intelligible and fix your pronunciation, vocab grammar, punctuation, etc. That's all the stuff that got covered in the first part of the David Crystal interview.
