2001's Artificial Intelligence

The voice is everything, right? Yeah, Hal and the voice is perfect. But it has this tone of complete, quiet confidence. It's artificial even in its seeming to be human. The obvious effort that has been put into programming this thing to sound human, that sounds artificial. And so it's like it is a great voice. I mean, when you see there are poor that he has with the crew at the beginning and it's almost likable. Right. Like I'm down with fantasy but I want it to unfold within the sort of metaphysically possible because otherwise it doesn't have anything to tell me about reality.
