The Importance of First Amendment Rights in the US

Sally Kohn: How do we in the United States approach a situation where it's the Indian government jaw boning social media platforms and then in America, say a documentary critical of Narendra Modi is getting taken down because of a foreign government's pressure on the platforms? She says if that is how the First Amendment rights of platforms play out then there is truly no barrier to them just choosing to accommodate foreign governments. Kohn: The idea that allegations from Turkish police should create an obligation under US law to silence speech or else face US liability is pretty head spinning. But this is a big snarly problem.
