The Benefits of Video Laryngoscopy for ED Patients
A 14.3% absolute risk difference translates to a little bit less than 7%. If you think about the next 7 ED or ICU patients that you go to innovate, there are five of them who probably can be innovated successfully on the first attempt with either a direct or a video laryngoscope. There's one patient who might not be able to be innovated on the first attempts with either adirect or video laryNGoscope. And there's one in seven patients who can't be innovated on the first try with avideo laryngoscopy. The Department of Defense trial was funded for this trial by the Pentagon.
