The Importance of Gestures in Language

Are there linguistic cultures in which people don't really gesture very much when they talk? Obviously, we know there are cultures where people gesture more like we love to point to like Italian culture. It also is the case that it may be a myth that Italians gesture more. They may just be richer gestural thesores than some cultures. But we don't know so much about that yet.
