Catholicism Outside the State Is Not a Catholic Idea
Catholicism outside the state was always a slightly weird concept, sort of like diaspora jury almost in a sense. The idea of separation of church and state is fundamentally not a Catholic idea. Having those tools available to kind of have the breath of life loaned into them by the power of sovereignty is great. But conversely those things without that power or without that sense will disappoint many who come to them wanting more.
