Samuel Zell was born Schmulie Zilonka on September 28, 1941. His parents Rucla and Berwick were Jewish immigrants from Poland. He gets raised in Chicago where his father takes up a new business. When Germany was gearing up to invade in 1939, he was one of those guys who was like, probably time to begin.
