The team at Deetrize had a bug that felt devastating. They were trying to rip out V-Trace, and there was a bunch of pound if-deaf code in the kernel That would do this stuff that was basically dead code. One additional line happened to be the line that initiated the first IO on boot on this particular SCSI HBA,. And it was more or less undebuggable. It's really true that you can't just converge your way to a functioning system. Well, you can't.
