The Case of a Chinese Oligarch in the RCMP
In 2004, he was running the white collar crime unit in Vancouver. In 2005, he gets suspended with pay during an internal investigation. The problem is that he was running for election in Richmond as a federal conservative. He doesn't ask his bosses if it's OK to do this on the side. So they get a little annoyed with him. And that is why he ends up leaving the RCMP and going to Hong Kong. Has a whole other life in Hong Kong, wife, kids, and like lucrative business.
