The Death of Stephen Lawrence

In 2004, the Crown Prosecution Service announced that there was insufficient evidence to prosecute anyone for Stephen's murder. But then a year later, in 2005, the law was changed, and double jeopardy was allowed to be repealed in very serious crimes such as murder or rape. And so everyone began campaigning again, but this time, ten times harder. It seemed as though police didn't really seem to be doing anything at all. They couldn't tell anyone what exactly they were doing to investigate this case. They were just saying we're working on it.
