The Irony of Lingayats

Lingayat was to begin with not supposed to be a caste at all. It was a break away from Hindus several centuries ago under the leadership of Basavasura. The government is refusing to collect any data relating to OBCs because that will be politically very sensitive. Shudras constitute these intermediate caste and these OBCs, says Ravi Agrawal.
