The Problems With Fair Integration Between Transit Providers
There's no concept of a transfer often between these transit systems. New York borders New Jersey, which is a different state altogether. So both New York and New Jersey have to kind of agree on something. The open payments take care of some of this in the sense that at least you don't have to worry about a different card.
