Hawaii Needs Tourism
The tourist idea that we need to have commodity workers working at really low wages, doing mindless jobs is a business model that does not really work anywhere. I've never really seen it work anywhere. The more you put your own people front and center, their experiences, their lives, their priorities, their needs, the more you focus on making their lives as incredible as possible. It doesn't accrue wealth there. And please, the take away from this should not be that Chuck thinks we should ban tourism. I'm not suggesting it does.
