The Complexity of the Deep Time Record
The Australian hand-acts have been produced by three or four different human ninjas. So potentially Homo rectus, hydro rectus, Neanderthals, even Homo sapiens. And they kind of it's a longevity from about 1.7 million to around 200,000 years old. The fact that different human species are making these artifacts, for me, means that they're not all making them for the same reason.
