The Devout Life - Is There a Cause for Your Dryness?

Father Gregory is trying to lead us through the recognition of obstacles or impediments to our growth in the devout life. He starts, you know, with sin and then the desire for sin and then he stirs up contrition by proposing these different meditations. And so I think in our own life, we can progress through steps to the recognition of what it is that keeps us from being God's holy and entirely. The image of Saint Dominic kneeling at the base of the crucifix as Our Lord's precious blood streams from his side is a good image for dryness of prayer.
