I tend to think of that as an early alignment E-VAL. Like the designers didn't want them to do this, but now a human can get them to do it. My guess is we're going to have a point in time when AI's are able to do something with bioweapons or something with autonomous replication. They were able to say, oh yeah, this thing is scary as heck and it's not yet smart enough to sandbag because it doesn't have to be smart enough to do that reliably in order to be dangerous in other ways.
