Christmas After Mom Rejected Cookies Posters

A Reddit user posted a story about his wife's refusal to attend Christmas because her mother-in-law wouldn't let her bring cookies. The original poster of this added that his wife's were not the only samples that were rejected. Other types of dishes like appetizers and salads are apparently totally welcome. So is the man who posted this the husband or basically telling his wife that she needs to suck it up and be an adult?
