The NHS in England has approved the use of weekly injections that help people lose up to a tenth of their body weight. The drug, semi-glutide marked as we go with, has gained popularity in the US because it's been promoted by celebrities and social media influences. More than half of the global population is on course to be living with overweight or obesity. That's 3% of the world's GDP, the equivalent of a COVID outbreak every year.
