Napoleon and Lucian's Dilemma

Napoleon wanted a catholic element to the ceremony and at least the appearance of the pope's official blessing. The concordat was more of a cease fire than a true settlement between the parties, there was still a lot of mutual mistrust. This would be a double coronation, napoleon as emperor of the french and josephine as empress of the french. There was yet another stumbling block: Napoleon and josephine were not married.
