The Importance of Tenderness in a Movie

The ending of Lady Bird is very open and about the thrill of finding oneself. A lesser movie would have made Ken a villain in an uncomplicated way. One of the most powerful moments for me is after the Ken's first takeover and Gosling kicks Robbie out. And finally women are often infantilized in movies, child like dialogue, child like understanding of the world need to be protected by men,. Which is an idea that's really weaponized in this movie.
