The murder rate in El Salvador has halved in the last year. Even those that really have severe reservations about a very authoritarian system like that say, I've got to admit, the country's been transformed. So it's gone down well amongst the majority of the population and also in the wider world. The question is what problems does this set up further down the line? But Kelly, for the time being, can say that he was fairly elected in 2021 and is a legitimate democratic leader.
