The Land Is an Unavoidable Party to What You Do
There's a sense of for Israel that their experience of God was also mediated by the land. So you have the God-human-land relationship very tightly woven in Israel's thinking. And so the land is an unavoidable party to what you do, which I think you see it there with the land receiving the blood of Cain.
