I mentioned last week how my friend said she wants to get in the best shape of her life this month, perfect with Mars in Leo. But then she got sick. And i got sick too. Most of the people in town got sick actually. It’s one of the quirks of living in a small Mexican village. Things can go around quickly. Thankfully, they also passed quickly.
This inspired me to think deeply about the phrase “best shape of your life.” It’s something many people want, but no matter how healthy you are, we can all still get sick. We all age. So it’s not as much about the external, physical shape, but the internal sense of health and wellness that matters.
Health is something I’ve been passionate about since I became conscious of my diet as a teenager. I was drinking my usual 3 sodas a day (!) when I asked my friend if he wanted one. He said no, because it causes muscle loss. I was shocked. I knew it was bad for my teeth but I never thought beyond that. I immediately stopped drinking soda and began to examine the effects of all foods and lifestyle choices. This eventually lead to me becoming a yoga teacher in 2011 and specializing in Ayurveda; the science of life extension.
Reflecting on this inspired me to offer a new workshop to share the best lessons I have learned about health from Yoga, Ayurveda, Astrology and 20+ years of trial & error since the day I stopped drinking soda. It’s called “Get In The Best Health Of Your Life.”
