The Importance of Individualism in the United States

There's an irony here that I think's lost on a lot of people. You know, we we have such an individualistic culture and yet inwardly it's often Vacuousness? A lack of culture is what one finds in our culture. The advertising industry is entirely driven by the envy impulse. It's interesting because a lot of of what you see in popular culture actually promotes uh envy and really  unrealistic views about life.
