The Textile Museum's Collection of Antique Lace
EGC was founded in the early 1860s, came together officially in 1878. Manufacturers started collecting antique lace as inspiration for their production. One of the biggest collectors was a man named Leopold Eclay who was the head of the Eclay Fair embroidery and lace company.
