The Senate Meeting in the Temple of Jupiter Stator

The Senate doesn't just meet regularly. It has to be summoned, has to be called to order. And so the consuls also get to choose the location where the Senate meets. Cicero wants to emphasize the danger that the city and especially the Senate is in. So he calls the Senate to meet in a different place in the temple of Jupiter Stator which is Jupiter, the stopper of armies.
