The History of the Founding Fathers
After 19 21, there is a massive mythologization that spreads, really, from george washington. In the 19 thirties and forties, the new deal drew on these myths and built further monuments glorifying both the founding fathers and lincoln. For example, the jefferson memorial and lincoln memorial in washington were both built in the 19 forties. The phrase founding fathers diminishes some, but then it starts to rise again after 19 90. And by the two thousands, it's come back up almost to an equally high level of frequency in the language as it had in the19 forties.
