The Importance of Chord Flattening in Myelopathy

Chord flattening, even without canal stenosis, can cause myelopathy. Some say it's because mass effect on static imaging may be much worse in dynamic positions. And some say it's micro-eschemia from compression of perforator vessels. You don't need to actually see compression of the chord at the time of your scan for the patient to develop a compressive Myelopathy.
