The Third Theory of Incongruity

I'm thinking a lot about contemporary American comedies, like your parks and recreations. If you wanted it to happen, yeah, it wouldn't be satisfying, it would be funny, right? Yeah. The question is, do you still laugh? And I think you probably do. It's interesting because Freud sees comedy as modeled on what he calls smut. So there's a kind of nice that a joke is for Freud to stay a kind of refined version of something.
