ISP Routers - What's the Point of Open Source Software?
CNN's John Defterios was able to sniff traffic on a router he used at home. He found that the device had a known vulnerability that allows remote code execution. Some internet providers say you can't use another router or modem unless you have fiber-optic service, which many people don't need. But open source software is probably a better outcome than something that's proprietary, Defterios says.
