The Cost of Lenses
The primal concept, that underlying idea, I love very much because it helps to look at some of these things or many of these things in a much more accurate way. You have to realize optometry, the selling of lenses is a hundred billion dollar a year industry,. Like glasses, those plastic lenses cost the optometrists anywhere from two to five dollars wholesale their cost. That's crazy. It is an intensely profitable business and lenses in plenty of countries aren't prescriptions. The only reasons there are prescriptions in countries like the US is because lens manufacturers spent millions of dollars on lobbying to make a clear curved piece of plastic a prescription.
