I think there actually has been an ideological project of US liberalism, particularly in the mid 20th century, it's this 1960s progress narrative. The way that was packaged up as if these were positive universal freedoms that were inviolable and somehow progressed. I just actually think there was this sort of celebratory like we've done it, folks. We're going to have gay marriage. Here we are. Now we'll have a transgender tipping point, right? And then, you know, since then there's been this sort of like reluctance to admit that that was an ideological lie being sold to people.
