The Importance of Football in the English Language Classroom
I personally think that football has this universal tone, so you can always use it with students from different contexts. So they're actually looking at language and you just kind of take this idea of football away and say here's an example of how language operates. We've also on the site we've covered lots of other issues connected to football. And that kind of provokes a good discussion about why is this happening, what does it look like, how can we stop it? It's not just top bins, a game of two hearts and just football. There's other things all around it as well, which I think is really important.
